Push Back the Darkness

Get Involved!

Community residents are invited to participate in team building, workshops, networking, and neighborhood projects to make Fairview a safer, more connected, and vibrant neighborhood.

Push Back the Darkness

Residents in the Fairview neighborhood have worked for years to make the Gambell-Ingra corridors safer for residents. This year, we’ve launched the Fairness for Fairview initiative to capture all these efforts within our community. Right now, you can join our efforts to PushBack the Darkness.

The Fairview Community Council is leading an effort to “Push Back the Darkness.” We’re asking residents and
business owners along the Gambell and Ingra corridors to place lights outside to highlight the roadway as a gateway to our neighborhood, and also that it is a residential community. We can provide LED lights and extension cords, but ask for your support to power the lights and monitor them. Will you join us to Push Back the Darkness?

The Fairview Community Council and the Fairview Business Association are co-sponsoring a winter lighting contest to help bring the light into our Fairview neighborhoods. Check back in the future for updates on a neighborhood-wide competition.

This is part of our overall efforts to highlight the corridor with lights and signs. There will be more opportunities to be involved. Thank you for your consideration.
