These gardens are created in partnership with Fairview Community Council, Anchor Gardens, ACAT/Yarducopia, with a grant from the Alaska Community Foundation, AARP, and the State of Alaska.

What is a Community Garden?

Community gardens are where the residents of a community are empowered to design, build, and maintain spaces in the community. These gardens will be built by the community; they will be subdivided into plots where gardeners can grow anything they choose, organically of course!

Free Farm Stands in 2025

The Free Farm Stand: Six Weeks of Growing Community

During August and September, Anchor Gardens and community volunteers came together in Fairview to share fresh produce, recipes, and connection. From homegrown greens and herbs to the ever-popular snow apples, neighbors gathered weekly to celebrate good food and good company.

100% of attendees said the fresh produce helped them eat healthier and stretch their grocery budgets, and many shared how uplifting it was to see neighbors helping neighbors.

We’re so thankful for everyone who made this season possible, from volunteers who showed up rain or shine to every community member who stopped by to share a smile. Together, we’re growing more than food—we’re growing community.
